Whitehurst Farm is a haven of happy chickens, turkeys, cows and hogs, roaming free beneath the big Texas sky. Farmers Michael and Leslie raise their animals on 57 acres of native grasslands, which provide beautiful views from the long table and some very scrumptious meat and eggs. They also tend a small market garden exploding with vibrant vegetables and herbs – music to the ears of guest chef Evelyn Garcia, a Top Chef alum and chef/owner of Jūn. The bustling restaurant in Evelyn’s home town of Houston opened in 2023 and is already a semi-finalist for a James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant. She’ll be cooking alongside Chef Jane Wild, who is locally famous for her seasonal baked goods and bi-monthly dinner series celebrating a connection to the land.
